Senior Cost Accountant/Inventory Analyst

Location:
Fully Onsite

Compensation:
$75-95k DOE

Role Overview:
As the leader of the inventory control team, you will be accountable for maintaining the financial accuracy of inventory. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, employing root cause analysis to uncover areas for enhancement. Drive and implement best practices throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee labor planning and scheduling for inventory control personnel, ensuring timely completion of all tasks while adapting to changing labor availability and priorities.

- Prioritize and delegate ad hoc requests in collaboration with warehouse operations.
- Mentor and develop associates, attracting and leading a highly skilled and motivated team.
- Foster continuous improvement by partnering with cross-functional teams to identify enhancement opportunities and implement best practices.

- Collaborate cross-functionally to diagnose and resolve root causes of inventory discrepancies, implementing preventive measures.

- Conduct weekly inventory adjustments in partnership with the Accounting Manager and President; monitor and communicate performance metrics. Analyze significant cycle count adjustments to identify root causes and relay findings to the team.
- Supervise inventory control team members, ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Maintain the integrity of inventory records by following established procedures.
- Investigate complex transaction histories to reconcile discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of management and customer representatives.
- Provide leadership and training to achieve company objectives.
- Assess all aspects of facility operations to troubleshoot processes and recommend improvements.

- Deliver reporting and analytics related to inventory accuracy, variance root cause analysis, and compliance with contractual Service Level Agreements/KPIs in an eCommerce Fulfillment Center.

- Ensure customer inventory control accuracy and monitor compliance with shrink contract requirements/service level agreements, reporting findings to site leadership.
- Participate in the evaluation and analysis of site inventory processes and systems.
- Provide necessary documentation to customers, financial statement auditors, or relevant regulatory auditors to support compliance requirements.

Subject Matter Expertise Development:

- Gain in-depth knowledge of operational and systemic inventory flow through the fulfillment center; understand inventory accuracy and supply chain metrics; familiarize with contractual service level agreements and associated KPIs.

- Develop metrics, measurements, and reporting to offer Operations and Leadership enhanced insights into: Inventory Accuracy; Compliance with contractual SLAs/KPIs; Critical process failures contributing to inventory errors; Cross-functional root cause & remediation of aged: Virtual, Locked, and Lost inventory; Short Shipments; Aged Tasks; etc.


Qualifications:
- Education/Training: Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience. An Associate's degree with a management or supply chain background is preferred.
- Related Experience/Requirements: Minimum of 5 years in inventory control. At least 5 years of experience in SAP implementation projects.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong grasp of inventory control procedures.
- Excellent analytical capabilities.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to swiftly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; capable of presenting organized and thorough information and data suitable for the intended audience.

- Self-motivated work style with strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Keen attention to detail and follow-up skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues.
