Primary Responsibilities:
Cost Management:
Establish, uphold, and evaluate standard costs for all products manufactured.
Investigate discrepancies between actual and standard costs, providing comprehensive analyses and corrective measures.
Generate and maintain cost accounting documentation, including reports on cost of goods sold (COGS) and production cost assessments.
Collaborate with production teams to monitor and evaluate production expenses and operational efficiency.
Conduct cost evaluations for new product introductions, process enhancements, and capital expenditures.
Financial Reporting:
Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports related to manufacturing activities.
Aid in the development of budgets and forecasts, ensuring precision and alignment with production objectives.
Examine financial data to uncover trends, variances, and opportunities for enhancement.
Inventory Oversight:
Manage and reconcile inventory accounts, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
Supervise and verify inventory valuation, ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
Coordinate with inventory management teams to maintain accurate stock levels and reduce discrepancies.
Compliance and Controls:
Establish and uphold internal controls associated with manufacturing accounting processes.
Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with organizational policies and accounting regulations.
Assist in identifying and addressing financial risks within the manufacturing domain.
Collaboration Across Departments:
Engage closely with production supervisors, engineering, and other departments to comprehend cost influences and their effect on financial performance.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to facilitate informed decision-making and process improvements.
System Enhancement:
Assess and propose enhancements to accounting systems and processes for improved efficiency and accuracy.
Support the implementation of new financial software or system upgrades.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis within a manufacturing context.
Strong grasp of cost accounting principles, manufacturing operations, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
Advanced skills in Excel and experience with data analysis and financial modeling.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
