Position Summary

This role is designed to support the management of the new and used truck sales department. By fulfilling the responsibilities of this position, the employee will enhance the productivity of the sales team and contribute to increased departmental revenue. Additionally, this position will assist the Sales Manager in various tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Regularly contact customers and prospects to identify potential sales opportunities for new and used trucks and trailers.
  2. Maintain a comprehensive database of existing customers and sales prospects to facilitate organized customer interactions.
  3. Assist sales personnel in preparing sales quotes when they are unable to do so due to time constraints.
  4. Support sales personnel with the filing and tracking of sales assistance for new trucks.
  5. Engage with customers and prospects visiting the dealership when sales personnel are unavailable.
  6. Assist rental customers during vehicle pickups when the rental manager is absent.
  7. Organize and maintain used truck files within the dealership's database, including images and specifications.
  8. Upload specifications and images of used truck inventory to the company website.
  9. Help the Sales Manager gather information for monthly direct mail campaigns.
  10. Place advertisements for new and used trucks as directed by the Sales Manager.
  11. Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with purchased products and services.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Appraise used trucks for trade-in value when necessary.
  2. Travel to customer locations to facilitate the sales process.
  3. Assist with sales and marketing initiatives, including surveys and trade shows.
  4. Deliver new and used trucks to customers alongside sales personnel.
  5. Maintain the appearance of the new and used truck lot, ensuring proper staging and presentation.
  6. Coordinate trucks through service or rig-up processes.
  7. Ensure that all sales brochures are current and accessible.

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of retail sales experience, preferably in heavy or medium-duty trucks.
  3. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  4. Commitment to the company's core values.
  5. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  6. Mathematical skills for preparing sales quotes and analyzing market data.
  7. Proficient in computer operations and customer interaction.
  8. Physical ability to demonstrate trucks and assess their value.
