Position Title: Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist II

Work Schedule: 20-40 hours per week

Location: On-site

Compensation: $25-$27 per hour

Role Overview: This position is essential in guaranteeing the quality and dependability of products and materials sourced from our vendors. The main duties include developing, executing, and sustaining effective quality control processes and standards to ensure supplier compliance with our company’s quality benchmarks. Responsibilities also encompass addressing customer complaints, managing warranty applications, processing credits and returns, and overseeing quality in warehouse inventory. This role serves as a feedback mechanism for upstream modifications in the supply chain.

Impact on Organization: The role focuses on achieving daily objectives with limited impact on the broader area. Responsibilities are carried out following established standards and procedures, with tasks being routine and well-defined.

Position Classification: Full-time, Independent Contractor

Qualifications: High School Diploma preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of new products and modifications to existing products, performing tests to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Measure components for adherence to blueprints and oversee the inspection and auditing of production parts and assemblies as necessary.
  • Examine stock related to customer complaints, identifying product issues and documenting testing results as directed by the Quality Assurance Engineer.
  • Communicate with the supply chain, production, and management regarding in-process and incoming rejections, facilitating corrective actions for returned or unacceptable products.
  • Perform site audits of supplier processes and production to verify compliance.
  • Assist in preparing Quality Assurance documentation for internal and external partners.
  • Conduct test runs and monitor quality documentation, collaborating with QA management on necessary corrective actions.
  • Work alongside the Quality Assurance Engineer on testing new products or evaluating changes to existing products.
  • Prepare and submit weekly activity reports to the Quality Assurance Manager/Quality Engineer.
  • Conduct audits of incoming materials and products based on established specifications.
  • Select products for testing at various stages of the production process, assessing dimensions and performance criteria, and documenting findings.
  • Perform cycle and performance tests on components and assemblies.
  • Record test data, applying statistical process evaluation techniques as appropriate.
  • Coordinate documentation for returned goods due to customer complaints, auditing returned parts and recommending actions based on specifications.
  • Stay updated on quality initiative programs and equipment.
  • Conduct dimensional evaluations (PPAP) on components and final assemblies or revisions to existing products.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Communication & Influence: Interacts with contacts typically within the immediate work unit on matters that require minimal explanation or interpretation.

Problem Solving & Complexity: Encounters routine problems with clearly defined solutions, following established processes to derive resolutions.

Travel Requirements: 10%

Physical Requirements:

  • Daily use of safety attire and protective gear.
  • Work indoors in a potentially non-temperature-controlled environment.
  • Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
  • Daily interaction with mobile equipment.
