Position Title: Supplier Quality Assurance Technician II

Employment Type: Contract position, Full-time

Work Schedule: 20-40 hours per week

Compensation: $25-$27 per hour

Role Overview: This position is essential in guaranteeing the quality and dependability of products and materials sourced from our vendors. The primary focus will be on developing, executing, and sustaining robust quality control processes and standards to ensure supplier compliance with our quality benchmarks. This role also involves addressing customer complaints, managing warranty applications, processing credits and returns, and overseeing quality in warehouse inventory. The technician will serve as a feedback mechanism for upstream changes within the supply chain.

Impact on Organization: The role is designed to meet daily operational objectives with a limited impact on the broader area. Responsibilities are performed following established standards and procedures, with tasks that are routine and well-defined, requiring close supervision.

Qualifications: A High School Diploma is preferred, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of new products and modifications to existing products, performing tests to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Measure parts for adherence to blueprints and conduct inspections and audits of production parts and assemblies as necessary.
  • Inspect stock related to customer complaints, identifying product issues and documenting testing results as directed by the Quality Assurance Engineer.
  • Communicate with the supply chain, production, and management regarding in-process and incoming rejections, facilitating corrective actions for returned or unacceptable products.
  • Perform site audits of supplier processes and production to verify compliance.
  • Assist in preparing Quality Assurance documentation for CFS and our supply partners.
  • Conduct test runs and follow up with QA management on quality documentation and corrective actions to ensure the procurement of quality products.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Engineer on testing new products or evaluating changes to existing products.
  • Prepare and submit weekly activity reports to the Quality Assurance Manager/Quality Engineer.
  • Conduct audits of incoming materials and products based on established specifications.
  • Select products for testing at specified stages in the production process, assessing various qualities such as dimensions and performance criteria.
  • Perform cycle and performance tests on component parts and assemblies.
  • Record test data, applying statistical process evaluation techniques as appropriate.
  • Coordinate documentation for returned goods due to customer complaints, auditing returned parts and recommending disposition based on specifications.
  • Stay updated on quality initiative programs and equipment.
  • Conduct dimensional evaluations (PPAP) on components and final assemblies or new products and revisions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Communication & Influence: Interact with contacts within the immediate work unit on matters that typically involve obtaining or providing information requiring minimal explanation.

Problem Solving & Complexity: Encounter routine problems with clearly prescribed solutions, following established processes to derive solutions and checking data for minor changes.

Travel Requirements: Up to 10% travel may be required.

Work Environment: Manufacturing and Distribution setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must wear safety attire and protective gear daily.
  • Work is conducted indoors, which may not be temperature controlled.
