About the Role

The Corporate Quality Assurance Specialist at Daisy Brand is responsible for driving a culture of quality excellence across the organization. This role is focused on fostering a continuous improvement mindset and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Frequently reviews product quality data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategies to address them.
  • Collaborates with suppliers to drive improvement in milk and cream quality, and other key ingredients.
  • Supports plant problem-solving efforts by utilizing new and established corrective action processes.
  • Conducts product complaint trend analysis to assist manufacturing facilities in identifying and addressing quality issues.
  • Develops and revises food safety and quality policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Reviews and approves changes to product specifications and laboratory methods to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Drives adherence to ingredient and packaging specifications by implementing Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and utilizing real-time data visualization tools.
  • Coordinates sample collections from internal plants for product and packaging reviews.
  • Provides technical support for resolving issues related to key process indicators in quality and/or food safety.
  • Performs internal and external food safety, quality, and regulatory audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Leads change management for material lot qualification through label approval and other business processes.
  • Participates in cross-functional teams to assist plants in implementing food safety and quality initiatives and processes.

Requirements

  • High analytical aptitude and proficiency in mathematics and statistics.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently to drive projects to completion.
  • Detail-oriented and resilient with excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Results-oriented and highly customer-focused (internal and external).
  • Effective technical writing ability and experience with MS Office Suite, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and statistical software (e.g., JMP).

Education and Training

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, or related discipline, and 1-3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Preferred: Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) for Human Food, HACCP training, knowledge of GFSI Benchmarked Schemes (e.g., SQF), and dairy manufacturing experience.

Organizational Relationships

This position reports to the Corporate Food Safety & Quality Manager and collaborates with others in the Quality Department to improve the business.

Travel and Location

This is a hybrid role based at the Corporate Office (Dallas, TX) with occasional travel.
