Position Title: Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist II

Contract Type: Temporary (up to 1 year)

Work Schedule: 20-40 hours per week

Work Location: On-site

Compensation: $25-$27 per hour

Role Overview: This position is vital in maintaining the quality and dependability of products and materials sourced from our vendors. The primary focus will be on establishing, executing, and upholding robust quality control measures and standards for our suppliers, ensuring adherence to our organizational quality benchmarks. Responsibilities include addressing customer feedback, managing warranty claims, processing returns, and overseeing quality within warehouse inventory. This role serves as a feedback mechanism for upstream modifications in the supply chain.

Impact on Organization: Responsible for achieving daily operational goals with limited influence on broader organizational outcomes. Tasks are generally routine and well-defined, requiring adherence to established procedures. Work is closely monitored.

Employment Type: Full-time, Independent Contractor

Qualifications: High School Diploma preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate new products and modifications to existing products, conducting tests to ensure compliance with established requirements.
  • Measure components for conformity to specifications and oversee the inspection and auditing of production parts and assemblies as necessary.
  • Review stock related to customer complaints, identifying product issues and documenting testing results as required by the Quality Assurance Engineer.
  • Communicate with the supply chain, production, and management regarding in-process and incoming product rejections, facilitating corrective actions.
  • Conduct audits of supplier processes and production to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Assist in preparing Quality Assurance documentation for internal and external partners.
  • Perform test runs and collaborate with QA management on quality documentation and necessary corrective measures.
  • Work alongside the Quality Assurance Engineer on testing new products or evaluating changes to existing products.
  • Prepare and submit weekly activity reports to the Quality Assurance Manager/Quality Engineer.
  • Conduct audits of incoming materials and products based on established criteria.
  • Select products for testing at various stages of production, assessing quality attributes such as dimensions and performance, and documenting findings.
  • Execute cycle and performance tests on component parts and assemblies.
  • Record testing data, applying statistical process evaluation techniques as appropriate.
  • Coordinate documentation for returned goods due to customer complaints, auditing returned items and recommending actions based on specifications.
  • Stay updated on quality initiatives and equipment.
  • Perform dimensional evaluations (PPAP) on components and final assemblies or new products and revisions.
  • Execute related duties as assigned.

Communication & Influence: Engage with colleagues primarily within the immediate work unit regarding information that typically requires minimal explanation.

Problem Solving & Complexity: Address routine problems with clearly defined solutions, following established processes to derive outcomes. Responsible for verifying data and information for minor adjustments.

Travel Requirements: 10%

Work Environment: Manufacturing and Distribution settings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Utilize safety attire and protective equipment daily.
  • Work indoors in a potentially non-temperature-controlled environment.
  • May be exposed to loud noises and distractions.
  • Interact with mobile equipment regularly.
  • Share workspace with others.
