Position: Quality Assurance Engineer for Suppliers

Job Overview:

The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Supplier Quality team is on the lookout for a dedicated Quality Assurance Engineer to enhance our quality oversight and development efforts for suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage in team initiatives to incorporate contractual obligations and Boeing's Quality Management System standards into all facets of proposals and program documentation.
  • Interpret quality requirements and ensure adherence.
  • Establish quality metrics and certification plans for smaller projects to guarantee compliance with contractual, corporate, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct assessments and validations to support supplier selection processes.
  • Participate in reviews to ensure quality considerations are integrated into product designs.
  • Execute analyses, tests, and process audits to confirm readiness for manufacturing and testing.
  • Provide resolutions for material non-conformances.
  • Analyze trends in non-conformances to assess the effectiveness of corrective measures.
  • Propose corrective actions to resolve non-conformance issues.
  • Perform benchmarking and analyses to verify that specified process capability levels are met.
  • Work under general supervision.

Work Environment:

This role is hybrid, requiring some onsite work as determined by the hiring team.

Security Clearance:

Applicants must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, necessitating U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a related STEM field.
  • Experience in Quality, Supplier Quality, or Supplier Management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA).
  • Valid Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in assembly or mechanical operations.
  • Familiarity with avionics and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of special processes such as Chemical Processing and Non-destructive Testing.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Model Based Definition (MBD).
