Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Operations with incoming and in-process inspections and troubleshooting to avert quality issues, collaborating with internal engineering and other essential stakeholders.
  • Ensure calibration of tools in accordance with IAPMO standards.
  • Review manufacturing processes, documenting issues and resolutions in the Quality Management System.
  • Conduct inbound inspections from suppliers to verify product compliance; gather process data as necessary; prepare summaries to confirm adherence or highlight deviations from established standards.
  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection tasks.
  • Execute internal audits of manufacturing processes and products as directed.
  • Support audits of the quality management system.
  • Report supplier nonconformities through the Global Supplier Quality reporting system and relevant business unit systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier quality challenges.
  • Assist in managing nonconforming material containment processes within the business unit.
  • Communicate with the quality department and internal teams to address and resolve customer quality issues.
  • May participate in projects as assigned by Quality System or Engineering supervision/support teams.
  • Support the quality department in the Corrective and Preventive Action Process.
  • Conduct analysis of nonconforming materials as directed.
  • Collect necessary process data and maintain quality records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and effectively execute processes to meet organizational goals.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to suppliers and other sites to support operations as required.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Technician, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing setting.
  • Proven communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of blueprint reading.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work with hand gauges (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
