Nova Biomedical is seeking a highly skilled Formulation Operator to join our team in Waltham, MA. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing batch formulation of various calibrators, controls, and reagents required to support company-produced and OEM analyzers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate solutions by staging, weighing, and mixing chemicals according to assembly procedures and final batch adjustments.
  • Document batch formulation and formulation logs accurately and completely.
  • Clean formulation equipment, bays, and associated areas.
  • Perform incoming inspections of raw chemicals upon receipt.
  • Maintain formulation equipment and perform cleaning as needed.
  • Operate the neutralization system.
Requirements:
  • Read and write English and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Perform basic math.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Entry-level knowledge of Quality System Regulations (QSR), OSHA safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Physical Demands:
    • Must be able to perform tasks involving standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, turning, climbing steps, and carrying up to 40 pounds several times a day.
    • Requires repetitive use of arms/wrist/hands while setting up/working with equipment/computer throughout the day.
    • Will require use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, bouffant, gloves, hearing protection, face shield, nuisance mask, and cartridge type respirator.
    • Must have good hand/eye coordination and visual acuity.
    • Must be able to distinguish colors.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work with various weighing equipment, such as analytical balances, top loaders, agitators, and liquid transfer equipment.
  • Willingness to learn, ability to adapt to change, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to operate power walkie stackers and manual pallet jacks.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team or individually.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Related experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment is desired.
  • 1-2 years' experience as a Compounder/Formulator or comparable environment.
