Nova Biomedical is seeking a highly skilled Formulation Specialist to join our team in Waltham, MA. As a key member of our formulation operation, you will be responsible for performing batch formulation of various calibrators, controls, and reagents required to support company-produced and OEM analyzers.
Key Responsibilities- Formulate various solutions, including staging, weighing, and mixing of chemicals, according to assembly procedures and final batch adjustments.
- Accurately document batch formulation and formulation logs.
- Clean and maintain formulation equipment, formulation bays, and associated areas.
- Perform incoming inspections of raw chemicals upon receipt.
- Maintain formulation equipment and perform cleaning as needed.
- Operate the neutralization system.
- Read and write English and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Perform basic math calculations.
- Demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude.
- Have entry-level knowledge of Quality System Regulations (QSR), OSHA safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Meet physical demands, including standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, turning, climbing steps, and carrying up to 40 pounds several times per hour.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Ability to work with various weighing equipment, such as analytical balances, top loaders, agitators, and liquid transfer equipment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to change, with a positive attitude.
- Ability to operate power walkie stackers and manual pallet jacks.
- Experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment is desired.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Related experience in a GMP environment is desired.
- 1-2 years' experience as a Compounder/Formulator or comparable environment.
