Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and mentor all kitchen associates to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Determine production and inventory levels for the department to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Ensure the quality and freshness of all products and services provided by the kitchen department.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate product assortment and inventory levels.
  • Confirm pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items.
  • Ensure the kitchen is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to all customers.
  • Ordering product and creating production sheets to meet the needs of the kitchen based on past and projected sales.
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Set a professional and positive example to others.
  • Communicate openly and frequently with Store Director, Director of Delicatessen Operations and other Support teams.
  • Ensure company standards for safety, sanitation and productivity are maintained.
  • Teach, mentor and educate associates to help them be successful members of the team.
  • Provide honest, direct and constant feedback to associates regarding their performance and areas of improvement; assess associate performance and influence promotion, discipline, etc.
  • Promptly address and resolve associates concerns and/or grievances.
  • Write the kitchen schedule to ensure coverage and meet labor goals.
  • Quarterly inventory of all department products.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required, college education preferred.
  • Five years of delicatessen/kitchen/restaurant management experience preferred.
  • Current Food Handlers Permit.
  • Ability to professionally and appropriately handle conflict.
  • Must enjoy working with and handling products.
  • Should have a passion for preparing, cooking and eating food particularly fresh items.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with and manage diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to professionally and appropriately handle conflict.
  • Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one's own success as well as the success of your team.
  • Required to make logical, significant decisions using general, recognized analytical skills and techniques.
  • Must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission-driven, and be self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons mission and commitment to working collaboratively.
  • Continually strives to be product-minded, customer-minded, personnel-minded, detailed, forward-focused and consistent.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
