Job Summary

Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Under the direction of practice providers or nursing staff, prepare patients for encounters, assist clinicians in delivering care, and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies.
  • Perform clerical and scheduling duties in conjunction with patient contact, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to report patient care observations, deviations from patient plans, and other pertinent information.
  • Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Apply basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology to support administrative tasks.
  • Maintain knowledge of infection control protocols and adhere to established guidelines.
  • Perform venipuncture skills as needed, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and comfort.
Requirements:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in a physician practice or outpatient clinic setting.
  • 1 year of secretarial or administrative experience, including medical terminology.
  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Current nationally accredited Medical Assistant Certification/Registration or Current Vermont State LNA License (preferred).
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
Pay Range:

$24.17 per hour
