Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Franklin, IN

Contract Duration: 18+ Months (with potential for extension)

Compensation: $35 - $40 per hour on W2

Role Overview:

The primary responsibility of a Manufacturing Engineer is to utilize engineering principles and methodologies to address challenges related to industrial design and production processes. A proficient manufacturing engineer is skilled in creating engineering drawings and interpreting blueprints effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze time, motion, methods, and operational speeds to establish standard production rates and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Interpret engineering schematics and collaborate with management or engineering teams to define quality and reliability benchmarks.
  • Review production logs and specifications to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
  • Assist in planning work assignments based on worker performance, machine capabilities, production timelines, and potential delays.
  • Develop charts, graphs, and diagrams to represent workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and equipment utilization.
  • Monitor equipment usage to ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols.
  • Assess operational tasks to determine time efficiency and fatigue rates using timing devices.
  • Compile data and generate reports to validate or highlight deviations from established standards.

Contributions to the Team:

  • Facilitate the implementation of new processes.
  • Create standardized work documentation for processes.
  • Support the initiation of new machinery.
  • Prepare validation and PPAP documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Associate's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree with less than 5 years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Proficient in understanding part prints and designs.
  • Experience in FMEA and control plan development.
  • Basic knowledge of gauging and part inspection techniques.

Desired:

  • Experience in designing and implementing manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of automation processes.
  • Strong understanding of safety and ergonomic practices in manufacturing.
  • Time management skills.
  • Experience in equipment installation and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in CAD tool design.
