About the Role

LHH is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team in a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position. This is a newly created position due to business growth, offering a unique opportunity to manage new product lines from concept to launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the design team to develop new products, ensuring they meet customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct design reviews with internal and external stakeholders to ensure manufacturability and quality.
  • Perform Finite Element Analyses to determine the feasibility of new products.
  • Select materials and create new materials as needed to manufacture new products.
  • Manage projects from beginning to end, including concept definition, design, Bill of Materials selection, prototyping, and manufacturing.
  • Work with the design team to edit drawings to match customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with sales, client services, and engineering teams to address client requests and custom projects.
  • Verify and validate new designs, conducting root cause analysis of quality issues during the design and manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate with operations and management personnel to develop a shared vision for task completion and report on activities.
  • Perform initial and ongoing product and performance reviews.

Requirements:

  • ***NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENT: Must have previous work experience with plastics manufacturing, including overmolding, insert molding, injection molding, and/or extrusion, or possess a Bachelor's Degree specifically in Plastics Engineering.***
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
  • Must have experience with program management and/or new product development experience with plastic products.
  • Preference toward candidates from a highly regulated industry.
  • Must possess the ability to read blueprints and CAD designs.
  • Must possess strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively work as part of a cross-functional team.
