Key Responsibilities

Electrical Engineering

  • Craft electrical designs, schematics, and drawings utilizing AutoCAD
  • Interpret mechanical design documents to ascertain electrical needs
  • Investigate supplier offerings for assembly components
  • Assist in establishing new standards and maintaining existing ones
  • Generate electrical bills of materials
  • Power up electrical systems and configure hardware according to application specifications
  • Evaluate the quality of work performed by assemblers/technicians and provide assistance during assembly
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineers to contribute to quote preparation as necessary

Software Development

  • Design and create software applications based on specifications or innovative concepts
  • Comprehend client needs for HMI/communication interfaces, networking, and formulate specifications accordingly
  • Review, modify, and redesign legacy code both in-house and in the field
  • Troubleshoot issues with existing company-installed systems
  • Compose user manuals to convey the functionality of company-developed software
  • Engage in technical writing, including Software Documentation: Test Plans, Operating Manuals with Troubleshooting Guides, and Spare Parts Lists with Vendor Parts
  • Participate in Requirement Reviews and collaborate with Mechanical Engineering to ensure proper feature implementation

General Duties

  • Provide timely and comprehensive status updates as required
  • Maintain quality standards in a process-driven environment
  • Willingness to travel and work at customer locations
  • Availability to work overtime to fulfill project commitments as necessary
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and orientation of new personnel

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (BSEE preferred)
  • Over 6 years of experience in the automation sector
  • Proficient in Design/Drafting Tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks
  • Experience with Programming Logic Controllers (PLC) (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Omron)
  • Expertise in configuring and designing HMI systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley)
  • Familiarity with Industry Standards such as UL and CE
  • Knowledge of various Motion Controllers/Actuators
  • Proficient in troubleshooting control system challenges
  • Preferred experience with Vision System programming (e.g., Cognex, Keyence)
  • Preferred experience with Robot programming (e.g., ABB, Fanuc)
