Position Overview:

As an Insurance Operations Specialist at Ideal Teams, you will play a crucial role in supporting our advisory team by overseeing the underwriting processes for life, disability, and long-term care insurance policies. This position calls for a diligent, detail-oriented, and highly organized individual who is eager to collaborate with colleagues and partners to ensure an exceptional client experience. This is a salaried role within the operations team – no sales or business development responsibilities are involved in this position.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • Approximately 45 hours per week with some flexibility for remote work

Key Responsibilities:

Underwriting Management

  • Supervise the underwriting of the organization's life insurance, disability, and annuity offerings.

Application Oversight

  • Manage the application process and coordinate medical examinations.

Effective Communication

  • Engage in clear communication with clients, prospects, underwriters, producers, and team members throughout the underwriting journey.

Case Organization and Management

  • Maintain and organize case inventories while keeping status tracking reports updated.

Insurance Illustrations

  • Generate insurance illustrations and maintain in-force ledgers.

Fund Management

  • Efficiently manage the funding and refunding of life insurance premiums.

Policy Monitoring

  • Track existing client policies for potential rating reconsideration opportunities.

Client Service Communication

Address client inquiries regarding their policies, provide reports, and conduct brief Zoom or phone consultations as necessary.

Policy Late Payments

  • Generate the "LatePay Report" weekly and coordinate the payment of overdue premiums to avert policy lapses.

MEC Warnings

  • Monitor MEC warning notifications and reach out to clients to coordinate actions to prevent policies from becoming MECs.

Client Service Report Review

  • Regularly review client service reports to track all actions impacting client policies (lapses, MECs, changes).

Additional Duties:

Post-Approval Document Management

  • Send and collect post-approval documentation.

Rating Reconsiderations

  • Proactively monitor and contact clients regarding rating reconsideration opportunities.

ISA Surpluses

  • Prepare monthly reports for surplus balances in Insurance Service Billing Accounts and issue refunds to clients as necessary.

Universal Life Premiums

  • Conduct quarterly reports to ensure timely payments for Universal Life policies.

Variable Life Allocations

  • Regularly review and confirm appropriate allocations for Variable Life policies.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Licensing: Must obtain Life & Health insurance license within 90 days of employment.
