About the Role

At Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Insurance Account Manager to join our team. As an Insurance Account Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing assigned accounts, making sound underwriting decisions, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support sales efforts by developing complete application submissions and obtaining quotes in conjunction with agency marketing procedures.
  • Prepare billing following agency's credit and collection policies.
  • Maintain electronic client files ensuring accurate documentation is received according to agency procedures and timelines.
  • Maintain control of renewal expiration lists, binders, audits, and aged receivables in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Perform annual policy audits to ensure proper coverage and reduced risk exposure is achieved.
  • Respond to internal and external client inquiries or company requests in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Participate in courses for insurance/sales skills and maintain current knowledge of underwriting requirements of carriers.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of all lines of insurance represented through agency.
  • Thorough knowledge of agency operations including claims handling, procedures, agency management system, and applicable insurance laws/codes.
  • Experience and expertise in operating in an electronic environment; excellent automation skills, Lotus Notes, Word, Excel, document management software, carrier proprietary systems, and phone systems.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and risk management.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
Qualifications
  • +1 year of experience in insurance, or underwriting.
  • Appropriate State license(s).
  • Bachelor Degree or 4 years work experience in lieu of degree.
