Director of Ticketing and Revenue Generation

Position Title & Department:
Director of Ticketing and Revenue Generation; Athletics

Department Overview:
The University of San Diego's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is dedicated to fostering both academic and athletic excellence, enriching the lives of students, and promoting the values of the University.

Role Overview:
This position is responsible for overseeing all functions of the Ticket Office located at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. The Director will collaborate closely with Athletic Facilities management to ensure efficient operations of the front office. Key responsibilities include managing ticketing processes and external outreach initiatives aimed at boosting revenue, attendance, and season ticket sales for intercollegiate sports, along with other ticketed events held in athletic venues. The role also involves managing the ticketing platform (TIXR) and the Fan Ambassador program, while holding significant financial responsibilities related to cash handling and budgeting for ticketing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of the USD Athletic Ticket Office.
  • Work with the Compliance office to create and uphold policies for student-athletes in alignment with NCAA, WCC, and USD regulations.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for the ticket office.
  • Ensure secure ticket inventories and implement thorough accounting checks and balances.
  • Conduct sales outreach to alumni and prospective season ticket purchasers.
  • Maintain patron data to inform future sales and marketing efforts.
  • Handle requests for ticket donations and discounts.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with campus departments and alumni relations.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Facilities unit.

Employment Conditions:

  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification is required within six weeks of employment.
  • Availability for extended hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for away events, NCAA competitions, and WCC meetings.
  • Must be available on short notice for events.
  • Limited opportunities for extended vacations during peak sports seasons.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Requirements:
    A minimum of two years of experience in ticket center operations within a collegiate, professional, or comparable setting is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with athletic season ticket holders is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations is strongly preferred.
  • A robust background in customer service, with three years preferred.
