This role involves delivering safe and effective family-centered nutritional care to patients ranging from newborns to adults with diverse medical conditions.

The dietitian will assess diagnoses and formulate nutritional care strategies for patients, adhering to established dietetic standards and regulations.

Acting as a resource for fellow staff members, the dietitian will assist in problem-solving, engage in shared governance, and participate in evidence-based practices while beginning to cultivate clinical leadership abilities in designated areas.

The position requires a degree of independence and the ability to manage complex cases, as well as contributing to assigned projects.

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution.

The dietitian will conduct nutritional evaluations and collaborate with the medical team to ensure optimal nutritional care for patients.

Identifying nutrition-related challenges, the dietitian will seek assistance or referrals for intricate issues and will issue therapeutic diet orders within their scope of practice.

Monitoring patient progress is essential.

Effective communication with patients, families, and medical staff is crucial, as is providing relevant information (issues, service requests, suggestions for improvement, etc.) to management.


Educating and guiding patients, families, caregivers, and staff on dietary practices, feeding regimens, or other nutritional information is expected prior to discharge or during outpatient consultations.

The dietitian will function as part of a multidisciplinary medical team, collaborating with nutritional services to ensure the availability of necessary food items and procuring formulas from appropriate sources. Additionally, the dietitian will mentor dietetic interns and provide peer reviews of nutritional assessments and diet orders.

All pertinent nutritional information must be documented in patients' medical records according to policy. Daily charges for patients seen, procedures performed, and time spent on each must also be recorded.

Participation in nutritional case studies, departmental in-services, and other training opportunities is required, with documentation of continuing education credits in CDR format.

Active participation in Medical Team rounds is expected.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
