Nutritional Care Technician at United States Steel Corporation
Position Overview:
- Supports the clinical nutritionist in delivering Medical Nutrition Therapy for designated patients/clients.
- Assesses the current nutritional status based on established criteria.
- Creates and executes tailored nutritional care strategies.
- Informs patients and their families about dietary management.
- Reviews patients' meal choices to ensure adherence to nutritional guidelines within prescribed dietary limits.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Processes and fulfills orders, including the preparation and distribution of specialized nutrition products in accordance with established protocols.
- Ensures a clean and hygienic workspace by adhering to infection control standards.
- Employs accurate techniques for measuring food items.
- Calculates nutritional formulations and seeks confirmation from the Registered Dietitian.
- Engages with patient care teams regarding nutrition-related matters.
- Maintains accurate patient records and oversees stock levels in the nutrition supply area.
- Records daily temperatures of refrigeration and heating equipment.
- Assists in mentoring colleagues on nutrition product preparation and safety practices.
Key Competencies:
- Exhibits strong mathematical skills for data interpretation and calculations.
- Operates effectively under time constraints while maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrates proficient communication abilities.
Compensation:
$24.61-$31.14 per hour (Compensation based on experience, qualifications, and agreements)
Qualifications:
- Associate of Applied Science in Dietetic Technology or equivalent is required.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience as a Dietetic Technician.
- Preferred: Registration as a Dietetic Technician within 1 year.

37.5 hours bi-weekly
Scheduled Hours:
7 AM - 3 PM; 8 AM - 4 PM; 9 AM - 5 PM
Weekend/Holiday Requirements:
Availability for weekend and holiday shifts is necessary.
