Position Overview:

  • Assists the registered dietitian in delivering Medical Nutrition Therapy to designated patients/clients.
  • Assesses the current nutritional status based on established criteria.
  • Creates and executes personalized nutritional care strategies.
  • Informs patients and their families about dietary therapy options.
  • Reviews patients' meal choices to confirm adherence to nutritional guidelines within prescribed dietary limits.

Responsibilities Specific to OCH Site:

  • Handles and finalizes orders, including the preparation and distribution of infant formulas in accordance with established protocols.
  • Ensures a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection control standards.
  • Employs accurate methods for measuring both solids and liquids.
  • Calculates nutritional formulations and seeks confirmation from the Registered Dietitian.
  • Coordinates with patient care departments regarding formula-related inquiries.
  • Maintains patient records and oversees inventory in the formula preparation area.
  • Logs daily temperatures of refrigeration and heating equipment.
  • Assists in the training of staff on proper formula preparation and handling techniques.

Essential Skills:

  • Exhibits strong mathematical skills for accurate interpretation and calculations.
  • Operates effectively under time constraints while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates proficient communication abilities.

Compensation:

$24.61-$31.14 per hour (Salary commensurate with experience, qualifications, and agreements)

Qualifications:

  • Associate of Applied Science in Dietetic Technology or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience as a Dietetic Technician.
  • Preferred: Registered Dietetic Technician certification within 1 year.

37.5 hours bi-weekly

Shift Times:

7a-3p; 8a-4p; 9a-5p

Weekend/Holiday Availability:

Availability for weekend and holiday shifts is required.
