Guidance, Navigation, and Control Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Guidance, Navigation, and Control Systems Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin. As a key member of our Missiles and Fire Control division, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and testing complex systems and algorithms.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems and algorithms for missile and fire control products.
- Develop and verify complex models and simulations, including 6-degree-of-freedom simulations and effects-based simulations.
- Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements.
- Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities to ensure system reliability and effectiveness.
- Support ground and flight test efforts, including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities.
- Collaborate with internal leadership and external customers to ensure project success.
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a DoD secret clearance.
- Candidate must have a BS/MS degree in computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or similar.
- Candidate must have demonstrated ability to perform one or more of the following GNC or Modeling and Simulation (M&S) assignments:
- Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms.
- Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations.
- Demonstrate experience in one or more of the following languages: C++, Matlab, Python.
- Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations.
- Proficiency with C++ programming, Matlab, Python, and Linux.
- Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses.
- Experience designing and analyzing target tracking and terrestrial navigation systems.
- Experience with optimal state estimation filters such as extended Kalman filters (EKF).
- Demonstrated skills in probability, statistics, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Experience with Model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
- Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements.
- Experience verifying/validating system and subsystem requirements.
- Familiarity with software configuration management and software unit testing.
