Position Title: Controls Engineer

Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $111,000 to $135,000, commensurate with experience and expertise.

Role Responsibilities:

This role entails overseeing electrical and controls engineering for large-scale projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing control systems from the ground up, including hardware, software, and networking components.
  • Creating electrical panel designs and conducting power calculations.
  • Performing risk assessments and selecting appropriate components.
  • Programming control systems and managing installation and commissioning processes.
  • Utilizing drafting software (preferably AutoCAD) for design purposes.
  • Collaborating with other project disciplines to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Optimizing panel locations to minimize voltage drop and enhance system efficiency.
  • Overseeing vendor compliance with safety and functionality standards.
  • Ensuring adherence to local and governmental design codes as well as client specifications.
  • Generating technical risk assessment documents and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Designing safety-critical components within control systems.
  • Implementing redundant systems to enhance safety and reliability.
  • Creating comprehensive documentation for system configuration and design, including operation descriptions, detailed design specifications, and maintenance plans.
  • Conducting essential system design calculations and analyses.
  • Possessing knowledge of ride system design for attractions is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours during installation and commissioning phases.

Qualifications:

  1. Highly organized and technically proficient, with strong oral and written communication skills.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (other degrees may be considered with relevant experience).
  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in ASTM standards, the attractions industry, and safety engineering.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications is required.
  5. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, with reduced travel expected in recent projects.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to see, perceive colors, hear, speak clearly, and demonstrate dexterity in hands. Physical activities may include lifting, climbing, and operating equipment.

Work Environment:

Position requires presence at client locations five days a week, with exposure to standard office settings and diverse industrial environments. Frequent use of computers and office equipment is expected.
