Job Summary:
Discovery Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer III to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical and control systems for large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical and control systems from scratch, including hardware, software, and network components.
- Conduct electrical panel design and power calculations, risk assessments, and component selection and configuration.
- Develop control system programming and installation/commissioning plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and drafters, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Perform system design calculations and analysis, including short circuit protection, harmonics, noise reduction, power consumption, and load flow.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configuration and design descriptions, panel assembly drawings, and schematics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical and control systems engineering, preferably in the attractions industry.
- Strong knowledge of contract documents and specifications, as well as ASTM standards.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office environments, as well as experience with drafting software (AutoCAD preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ride system design for attractions involving guests.
- Knowledge of safety engineering and SIL/PL rating.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, with occasional work on shifts during installation/commissioning.
Working Environment:
- Standard office environment, with frequent travel to client locations.
- Diverse industrial and construction environments, with occasional work on-site.
