Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group USA. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department for a facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus that meet the needs of our clients.
  • Produce and execute catering events that exceed our clients' expectations.
  • Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with our marketing and culinary teams.
Requirements:
  • A.S. or equivalent experience in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training.
  • Catering experience is a plus.
  • High volume, sophisticated foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences are useful.
  • Extensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet.
  • Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities.
  • ServSafe certified is highly desirable.
