About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Pluto Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a critical role in our mission to coordinate care and increase access to needed resources for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in virtual patient intake processes, including collecting and recording medical histories and updating patient information in our electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Ensure all medical records are accurately updated and maintained to facilitate proper billing and reimbursement processes.
  • Prepare and maintain electronic medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Support healthcare providers by managing and organizing medical documentation, correspondence, and scheduling for virtual appointments, diagnostic tests, and referrals.
  • Provide education and information to patients through digital communication about treatments, medications, and preventive care.
  • Assist in the management of patient records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate communication and ensure cohesive clinical workflows.
  • Stay updated on the latest healthcare technology and practices to support our innovation efforts.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or similar credential is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a clinical or healthcare technology setting is preferred.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare software.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members through digital channels.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality support and maintaining patient confidentiality.
