The Technical Support Specialist I plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional assistance at the Red River Service Desk. This position is dedicated to addressing technical inquiries directly from clients, as well as managing escalations from fellow team members and field engineers. Our specialists are committed to ensuring user productivity and enhancing their computing experiences through diligent maintenance, problem-solving, and resolution efforts. Additionally, they contribute to fostering a positive perception of the organization among existing clients through outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage a personal queue of assigned support tickets, prioritizing ticket SLAs to meet performance objectives.
  • Handle incoming client calls from the support center, collaborating with end users to resolve their technical issues.
  • Apply ITIL best practices to optimize and enhance the services provided to users.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of desktop operating systems, including both Windows and Mac environments.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to Windows and Mac OS.
  • Address Remote Desktop Services and VPN issues, including SSL and IPSec configurations.
  • Manage Office 365 Administration tasks, including Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Conduct basic email administration, including user management, account setup, password resets, and troubleshooting login and permission issues.
  • Perform basic virtualization administration, which may involve rebooting virtual machines and managing resource allocation.
  • Understand domain functionality and possess knowledge of Active Directory services, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Familiarity with backup solutions and troubleshooting common remote access technologies such as RDP and Citrix.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and standards as technologies evolve.
  • Execute other business-related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in IT support and administration, particularly with Windows management and Active Directory.
  • Experience in a dynamic consulting or managed service provider environment is advantageous.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain an active SECRET clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft MCSA are desirable.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Fundamentals and Administrator certifications is a plus.

  • Strong consulting and communication capabilities.
  • Confidence and experience in client-facing situations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and departments to resolve complex technical challenges and drive continuous improvement.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.

Work Environment:

This role is primarily office-based, requiring the ability to remain stationary for extended periods while engaging with colleagues through approved communication tools.
