Job Summary

We are seeking a Vice President to join our Privacy and Data Security Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing legal guidance on FOX's initiatives impacting privacy, cyber security, and data use. The Vice President will partner cross-functionally with business lawyers, technology teams, and business leaders to advise on cutting-edge, technology-oriented privacy and data security issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing compliance advice on privacy and data security laws and self-governing frameworks and standards.
  • Draft and negotiate privacy and data security contract language.
  • Draft privacy policies and other notices.
  • Conduct internal privacy education and training.
  • Respond to privacy rights requests.
  • Support policy, government relations, legislation, and litigation related to privacy and data security.
  • Partner with colleagues and business leaders to implement principles, such as privacy by design.
  • Remain up to date on relevant privacy and data security laws and regulations, as well as technological developments, threat vectors, and evolving industry standards.
  • Support incident response efforts.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school.
  • 8+ years of hands-on privacy and/or data security experience at a top law firm and/or as in-house counsel.
  • Experience providing pragmatic and actionable advice on various obligations and legal risks under privacy and data security laws.
  • Strong substantive background in privacy, data security, and technology, preferably in a direct-to-consumer context.
  • Strong eye for detail with sharp analytical skills; excellent judgment and strategic thinking ability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, creative environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and relationship management skills.
  • Team-oriented attitude and the ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals of all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects across multiple business units at one time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the media industry.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
