Join Our Team as a Vice President of Asset Management

Macdonald & Company is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our asset management efforts in Los Angeles. As a Vice President of Asset Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and maximizing the value of our diverse portfolio of properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Execute Asset Management Strategies: Lead the development and execution of asset management strategies that enhance property value, optimize cash flow, and ensure the successful execution of key capital projects.
  • Operational Excellence: Develop a comprehensive understanding of each asset's unique operational challenges and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Capital Project Management: Oversee and guide large-scale capital projects, ensuring seamless collaboration between contractors and service providers, with a focus on on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with property management teams, proactively addressing issues and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis, comparing monthly and quarterly financials against budgets, and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Budget Development: Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring they align with the overarching asset management strategy.
  • Compliance: Work closely with compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements across various government housing programs.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7-12 years of experience in real estate asset management or finance, with a strong focus on affordable or workforce housing.
  • Background: Proven background transitioning from property management to asset management.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to interpret complex financial data and develop data-driven strategies.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, adept at engaging with investors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
  • Career Growth: A history of career progression with a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel within California.
