Position Overview:

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a dynamic and innovative Resident Lifestyle Director (Activity Director) for our esteemed senior living community, Cogir of Kirkland. This role is pivotal in curating a vibrant array of life-enrichment activities tailored to the diverse interests and well-being of our residents.

The Resident Lifestyle Director (Activity Director) is responsible for the ongoing development and execution of programs that promote physical, mental, and social wellness. This includes the planning, organization, and facilitation of activities both individually and in group settings, alongside the coordination of special events. As a key member of the management team, this position ensures that all policies and procedures are effectively communicated and implemented. Additionally, this role involves the recruitment, training, and supervision of full-time associates (Activity Assistants and/or Coordinators) to uphold program standards and may include oversight of transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all life-enrichment activities, outings, and programs, ensuring they align with residents' needs.
  • Design and facilitate engaging activities, including arts, crafts, music, drama, educational sessions, and fitness programs.
  • Develop a monthly newsletter and activity calendar that showcases your creativity and photography skills, prominently displayed for residents and visitors.
  • Recruit, train, and manage Resident Lifestyle Coordinators (Activity Assistants).
  • Engage and supervise volunteers as necessary.
  • Encourage resident participation and celebrate their accomplishments.
  • Procure necessary materials and ensure organized storage for accessibility.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to plan community events.
  • Assist in budget development for the department alongside the administrator.
  • Promote family and community involvement in the activity program through newsletters and networking.
  • Contribute to enhancing the quality of care within the community.
  • Coordinate transportation for residents to external events, which may involve driving a company vehicle.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and leading life-enrichment activities for seniors in Independent Living (IL), Assisted Living (AL), and Memory Care (MC) settings is highly preferred.
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience in senior living, hospitality, or healthcare management is preferred.
  • An Associate's degree or higher in gerontology, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Training or a minimum of 1 year in Dementia Care is advantageous.
  • Strong background in event planning is preferred.
  • Creativity and a passion for enhancing the lives of others, coupled with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in various computer systems, particularly Excel, Word, and Canva.
  • Demonstrated initiative and sound judgment; professionalism and a pleasant demeanor are essential.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead meetings effectively.
