Position Overview

IFF is seeking a dedicated Process Engineer to join our team. This role is integral to our operations and will focus on enhancing the production processes within our Pharma Solutions division.

The Process Engineer will report directly to the MCC Production Area Manager and will be responsible for the optimization of our production lines, specifically in the areas of Avicel, AcDiSol, and Aquacoat. This position emphasizes daily operational support while also driving improvements to existing processes and products to align with corporate and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve operational process issues.
  • Develop and implement modifications to enhance operational reliability and product quality, improving the efficiency of critical resources.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental regulations relevant to assigned projects.
  • Establish control mechanisms to boost the reliability and efficiency of plant operations.
  • Oversee timely and effective commissioning of installations.
  • Create operating procedures and provide training for operators on new systems and start-up processes.
  • Gain proficiency in Distributed Process Control Systems.
  • Engage in safety and health initiatives, ensuring all processes are evaluated for safety, health, and environmental impacts.
  • Participate in safety reviews for hazardous operations and projects.
  • Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), ISO, and other quality standards for all changes and new processes.
  • Support the plant's environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Assess new processes and equipment to determine measurement accuracy requirements for plant instruments.
  • Participate in quality training to ensure products meet customer specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in chemical or mechanical engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing operations or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis for process enhancement.
  • Understanding of quality control procedures, processing equipment, and plant utilities, with preference for experience in pharmaceutical or food additive manufacturing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Excel.
