POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and lead teams in comprehensive studies, planning, criteria formulation, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documentation, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimation, and budgeting related to the planning, design, licensing, construction, operation, and maintenance of Exelon's electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas, and telecommunication systems.

This position involves providing expert consultation and recommendations to the company and other business units, based on thorough analysis of company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles, or facilities.

Additionally, the role includes reviewing financial data concerning project budgets and actual costs, acting as a recognized technical authority in specialized engineering domains, and being available for extended hours during emergencies.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct advanced consultations and training on complex technical areas requiring specialized engineering knowledge.
  • Evaluate intricate technical challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Lead the execution of significant technical projects and teams, focusing on cost-effective study, proposal, and design development.
  • Engage with technical and industry societies to stay abreast of emerging technologies and issues relevant to the company.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, budget recommendations, and performance monitoring to achieve committed results.
  • Serve as an expert witness, providing insights for regulatory and legal matters.

JOB SCOPE

This role holds substantial influence over strategic management decisions, impacting the company's direction on technical matters. It requires applying technical expertise to promote a safe work environment and enhance customer satisfaction.


QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a Master of Science degree in Engineering or be a Licensed Professional Engineer. A minimum of 8 years of experience in specific engineering areas is required, with a recognized status as an industry expert. Candidates should demonstrate advanced knowledge of regulations, standards, and engineering principles, along with the ability to analyze complex electrical and mechanical systems.

Preferred qualifications include experience with transmission planning software and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
