Position Overview:


The Senior Process Engineering Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the Poromerics operating unit, primarily focusing on the initial modules.

The Senior Process Engineering Specialist will report to the Poromerics Technical Area Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

- Comprehend all relevant process technologies, equipment, and control systems. Collaborate with Technical Advising, Product Quality, and plant personnel to optimize operations and achieve business and plant objectives (Production, cost, quality).

- Ensure the application of Process Safety Management within designated areas.

- Engage in advanced troubleshooting and mentor others to develop these skills.

- Implement best practices in operations to enhance efficiency. Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures and specific Operating Discipline requirements are established.

- Execute relevant Manage Production roles as determined by Plant / Business.

- Apply skills and knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC) technology to maximize plant asset utilization and produce cost-effective, high-quality products. Review charts on a daily basis.

- Take accountability for Process Control Systems within their processes.

- Respond to and document Out of Control data points.

- Develop Corrective Action Plans for recurring issues.

- Initiate updates to Plant Operating procedures to ensure their validity and currency, collaborating with the Technical Advisor as necessary.

- Network with other engineers on-site and within the global business to leverage knowledge on plant operations.

- Communicate technical information and issues to plant personnel, Technology, or Expertise centers as required.

- Participate in and lead teams as necessary.

- Own, monitor, and track KPIs as required.

- Implement process enhancements to support the reduction of variation, capacity, and yield improvement.

- Monitor and improve raw material variability.

- Collaborate with the Quality Coordinator, TA, and others as needed to address non-conforming products.

- Conduct and participate in RCA, FMEA, etc., as required.

Qualifications:

- A Bachelor's degree in engineering is required, with a preference for Chemical Engineering.

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in production engineering is preferred.

- Strong preference for experience with Process Safety Management and High Hazard Processes.

- Previous experience with statistical process control (SPC) and analysis is strongly preferred, with a basic understanding of statistics required.

- Experience in batch chemical processing is preferred.

- Participation in or leadership of PHAs is desirable.

- Experience in interpreting and dispositioning based on analytical results is a plus.

- Previous experience with Lean Six Sigma or relevant certification is advantageous.

- Ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks independently and collaboratively.

- Familiarity with machine safety protocols is required.

- Excellent communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills are essential.
