Job Overview:
The Junior Applied Scientist position offers a distinctive opportunity for students aiming to acquire practical experience in applied science and machine learning while receiving exceptional mentorship throughout their academic journey.

As a Junior Applied Scientist, you will become an integral part of an Amazon team, engaging in stimulating and impactful projects that benefit real customers. You will be paired with a dedicated Amazon Applied Science Mentor, ensuring personalized guidance and support in various aspects of your role.

The Junior Applied Scientist role is part of the unique Junior Developer Program, which offers:

Key Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related STEM field.
  • Have a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027.
  • Be able to work part-time throughout the academic year and full-time during the summer.
  • Be located within a commutable distance to the Amazon corporate site.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous technical internship experience.
  • The ability to articulate technical challenges and solutions effectively.
  • Adeptness at navigating ambiguous problems and thinking abstractly.
