As a Lead Applied Scientist, you will focus on enhancing the shopping experience by customizing product displays based on customer interests and preferences. Your role will involve utilizing generative models to drive innovation and improve how we engage with customers.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour primary mission will be to deepen customer relationships by leveraging insights to deliver timely and relevant product recommendations. You will:
- Analyze customer shopping behaviors to design advanced models that optimize product visibility.
- Utilize Amazon's extensive computing resources to develop and implement cutting-edge models that facilitate seamless shopping experiences.
- Engage in research to explore customer behavior and deploy models that enhance shopping efficiency.
- Contribute to the Amazon ML community by mentoring Applied Scientists and software engineers interested in machine learning and generative AI.
We seek a dedicated and skilled Applied Scientist with:
- A PhD or Master's degree coupled with at least 6 years of applied research experience.
- A strong background in various modeling techniques and their applications.
- Experience in developing machine learning models for commercial purposes.
- Proficiency in mentoring teams of applied scientists.
- Expertise in neural deep learning methods and generative models, both text and image-based.

CompensationOur compensation reflects the labor market across various US regions. The base salary for this role ranges from $159,100 to $309,400, depending on geographic location and individual qualifications. In addition to base pay, we offer a comprehensive compensation package that may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of benefits.
