Job Summary:

The Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor (not tenure-track) position, to begin in September 2025. The appointment is for a renewable three-year term, with the possibility of promotion to Associate Teaching Professor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: The teaching load is two courses on average for each of the terms in a nine-month academic year.
  • Departmental Service: The Department supports wide and diverse research interests and collaborations.
  • Supervision of Teaching Assistants: The Department is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community.

Requirements:

  • PhD or foreign equivalent in applied mathematics or a related field.
  • Three years of experience teaching applied mathematics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Evaluations.
  • Diversity statement addressing commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary range: $7,778 - $11,112 per month on a 9-month basis ($70,002-$100,008 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
