Director of Payroll Operations

Physician Affiliate Group of New York, P.C. (PAGNY), a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a highly skilled Director of Payroll to join its Finance team in the Corporate Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of Payroll management, including preparation, documentation, and distribution of payroll.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payrolls, payroll maintenance, and payroll reports.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Payroll to set departmental direction, focusing on improved policies, practices, and controls.
  • Evaluate current processes and develop operating efficiency improvements.
  • Work under limited direction to assist in overall planning.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of related Human Resources experience, with a minimum of 5 years of prior payroll experience.
  • Knowledge of Paycom and/or other Payroll Systems, HCMS, and/or HRIS systems, and reporting experience required.
  • Advanced Payroll certification(s) preferred.
  • Excellent client management and business literacy skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards despite pressing deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, prioritize, and multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be able to prioritize a variety of time-sensitive tasks and consistently display the highest degree of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion.
  • Must be able to develop strong, trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results.
  • Extensive knowledge and practical application of Federal, State, and local laws, with a solid understanding of the general body of laws surrounding Human Resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
