Position Overview:
IS3 Solutions is looking for a proficient and seasoned Linux Engineer to enhance our IT department. In this capacity, you will be tasked with overseeing and sustaining our Linux server ecosystem, ensuring peak performance, security, and dependability. Your role will also encompass designing and executing system enhancements and aiding various initiatives that propel our business forward.

Key Responsibilities:
  • System Oversight: Manage the installation, configuration, and upkeep of Linux-based servers and HPC systems utilizing NVIDIA DGX technology. Guarantee high availability, performance, and security across all Linux environments.
  • Issue Resolution: Diagnose and rectify intricate challenges associated with Linux systems, including hardware malfunctions, network complications, and software discrepancies.
  • Security Management: Establish and oversee security protocols, including user access, firewall settings, and intrusion detection systems. Perform regular security evaluations and vulnerability assessments.
  • Automation Development: Create and sustain scripts and automation tools for system monitoring, backups, and deployments using languages such as Bash, Python, or Ansible.
  • Performance Optimization: Track system performance and conduct performance enhancements to ensure optimal efficiency and response times.
  • Disaster Recovery Planning: Formulate and execute disaster recovery strategies and backup plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Develop and maintain thorough documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures. Ensure documentation is current and accessible.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other IT personnel, developers, and stakeholders to support projects and provide technical insights. Participate in on-call rotations as required.
  • System Upgrades and Patching: Oversee system upgrades and patches, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Assess new technologies and tools for potential integration.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Linux Engineer or in a comparable role, with extensive hands-on experience in managing large-scale Linux environments.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer), CompTIA Linux+, or LPIC (Linux Professional Institute Certification) are highly preferred.
  • Technical Proficiencies:
    • In-depth knowledge of Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
    • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Kubernetes).
    • Proficient in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
    • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
    • Acquainted with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef).
    • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is advantageous.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
