Key Responsibilities:
  • System Management: Supervise the installation, configuration, and upkeep of Linux-based servers and HPC systems utilizing NVIDIA DGX technology. Ensure high availability, performance, and security across all Linux environments.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and rectify intricate issues related to Linux systems, encompassing hardware malfunctions, network complications, and software conflicts.
  • Security: Formulate and enforce security protocols, including user permissions, firewall settings, and intrusion detection systems. Conduct routine security audits and vulnerability evaluations.
  • Automation: Create and sustain scripts and automation utilities for system monitoring, backups, and deployments using languages such as Bash, Python, or Ansible.
  • Performance Tuning: Observe system performance and execute performance optimization to guarantee maximum efficiency and response times.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies and backup plans to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Documentation: Generate and maintain thorough documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures. Ensure documentation remains current and accessible.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other IT personnel, developers, and stakeholders to support projects and provide technical insights. Participate in on-call rotations as necessary.
  • Upgrades and Patching: Oversee system upgrades and patches, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Assess new technologies and tools for potential integration.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Linux Engineer or in a comparable role, with extensive hands-on experience in managing large-scale Linux environments.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer), CompTIA Linux+, or LPIC (Linux Professional Institute Certification) are highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Profound understanding of Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
    • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Kubernetes).
    • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
    • Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
    • Acquaintance with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef).
    • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
