  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and rectify intricate issues associated with Linux systems, including hardware malfunctions, network complications, and software conflicts.
  • Security: Establish and oversee security protocols, encompassing user permissions, firewall settings, and intrusion detection systems. Perform regular security evaluations and vulnerability analyses.
  • Automation: Create and sustain scripts and automation tools for system monitoring, backups, and deployments using languages such as Bash, Python, or Ansible.
  • Performance Tuning: Track system performance and execute performance optimizations to ensure maximum efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies and backup plans to maintain data integrity and accessibility.
  • Documentation: Generate and uphold thorough documentation for system setups, processes, and procedures. Ensure that documentation remains current and easily accessible.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with fellow IT personnel, developers, and stakeholders to support projects and provide technical expertise. Participate in on-call duties as required.
  • Upgrades and Patching: Oversee system upgrades and patches, ensuring minimal disruption to services. Assess new technologies and tools for potential incorporation.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Linux Engineer or in a comparable position, with extensive hands-on experience in managing large-scale Linux environments.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer), CompTIA Linux+, or LPIC (Linux Professional Institute Certification) are highly advantageous.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Profound knowledge of Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
    • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Kubernetes).
    • Expertise in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
    • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
    • Acquaintance with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef).
    • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
