As a Process Engineer at Ingredion Incorporated, you will play a pivotal role within our Operations team, tasked with crafting innovative solutions and novel strategies to address engineering challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to outline the sequence of operations necessary to manufacture and assemble products that align with our organization's quality and cost standards.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Lead and execute projects, ensuring adherence to budget and timelines, supervising construction activities, training personnel, and coordinating with quality control, safety, health, environmental, and maintenance teams on projects valued up to $5M.

2. Provide technical expertise to enhance facility safety initiatives, particularly in the design and redesign of work processes aimed at eliminating workplace injuries and illnesses.

3. Oversee projects ranging from $3-5M, directing contractors and consultants effectively.

4. Design and implement capital permits, projects, and engineering studies as needed to support operational objectives.

5. Manage project budgets to deliver targeted returns on investment while adhering to Ingredion's ethical, safety, and engineering standards.

6. Identify and initiate capital projects with a timeline of one to two years, contributing to the development and maintenance of the plant's five-year capital plan.

7. Ensure that completed projects meet design objectives and that all maintenance, operational, safety, and training documentation is current upon project completion.

8. Monitor manufacturing processes to optimize the use of supplies and utilities.

9. Implement systems and programs to maintain or exceed quality and production targets while minimizing supply costs.

10. Represent Ingredion operations to third-party agencies and customer auditors.

11. Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams, including process studies, troubleshooting, process optimization, and maintaining historical data to monitor and control key operating parameters.

12. Lead initiatives for continuous improvement within the plant, focusing on process optimization, training, and enhancing the department's technical capabilities.

13. Identify opportunities to streamline operations to boost output, reduce waste, and lower costs.

14. Collaborate with plant leadership to develop strategies for enhancing safety culture and achieving an injury-free workplace.

15. Support Ingredion's 2030 Safety and Sustainability initiatives.

16. Implement the Ingredion Performance System (IPS) reliability objectives by utilizing management systems to effectively establish and sustain best operating practices, achieving optimal operational performance sustainably.

17. Maintain the Management of Change (MOC) program to ensure comprehensive reviews of environmental, safety, health, quality, and regulatory impacts of facility modifications during planning and post-completion.

18. Stay current in your field; assess new technologies and concepts to enhance process efficiency, facility safety, and product quality.


Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical preferred).
2. 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

3. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems, including basic chemistry, heat and material balances, P&ID development, mechanical and physical/chemical separations, evaporation, drying, material handling, control systems, GMP, and energy management.

4. Experience in industries such as food, chemical, biochemical, or pharmaceutical, with substantial engineering or operations experience preferred.


Skills Required:
1. Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting technical information and preparing concise reports, documenting processes and operational procedures, and completing necessary engineering documentation, including P&ID development for new or modified equipment and processes.

2. Demonstrated sound judgment, resourcefulness, initiative, and innovation in managing complex technical assignments with minimal supervision.
