Position Overview: Automotive Repair Specialist

The Automotive Repair Specialist is tasked with executing automotive repairs and services in line with dealership and manufacturer standards. This role requires the technician to apply their expertise to quickly and accurately diagnose and resolve various automotive issues. The specialist collaborates with all service staff and management to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute tasks as specified on repair orders with precision and efficiency, adhering to Lithia and manufacturer standards.
  • Identify the root cause of malfunctions.
  • Conduct all work in compliance with applicable safety protocols.
  • Perform road tests on vehicles to verify the quality of repairs.
  • Accurately log time spent on repairs using company timekeeping methods.
  • Document services performed on repair orders and record test procedures/results.
  • Maintain an inventory of standard mechanic tools necessary for the job.
  • Return specialized tools to their designated locations.
  • Utilize shop supplies and materials in a responsible and cost-effective manner.
  • Keep a tidy and organized workspace, ensuring daily cleaning of the work area.
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are returned in the same condition as received.
  • Complete all required training programs.
  • Obtain and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications through necessary training.
  • Engage in technical training as directed by management.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license.
  • Automotive technical knowledge with three to five years of experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in performing repairs independently in the following areas:
  • Lube and Maintenance Services.
  • Engine Repair.
  • Suspension/Steering Repair.
  • Brake Repair.
  • Electrical/Electrical Systems Repair.
  • Heating and A/C Repair.
