Service Specialist

The Service Specialist is tasked with executing automotive repairs and maintenance in alignment with dealership and manufacturer standards. This role requires the ability to swiftly and accurately diagnose and resolve various automotive issues. The Service Specialist collaborates with all service staff and management to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute tasks as specified on repair orders with precision and efficiency, adhering to Lithia and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Identify the root cause of malfunctions.
  • Complete all work in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Conduct road tests on vehicles to verify the quality of repairs.
  • Accurately log time spent on repairs using company timekeeping methods.
  • Document work performed on repair orders and record testing procedures/results.
  • Maintain an inventory of standard mechanic tools necessary for the job.
  • Return specialized tools to their designated locations.
  • Utilize shop supplies and materials efficiently and economically.
  • Keep a tidy and organized workspace, performing daily cleaning tasks.
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are returned in a clean condition.
  • Complete all required training programs.
  • Obtain and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications through necessary training.
  • Engage in technical training as directed by management.
  • Review technical bulletins and other assigned publications.
  • Communicate effectively with other dealership personnel to meet customer needs.
  • Report any safety or integrity concerns to management.
  • Adhere to personal grooming and uniform standards as per departmental policies.
  • Arrive at work, take breaks, and leave at scheduled times as designated by management.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Honda Certified Technician with a minimum of 1 year of Honda experience is essential.
  • Experience in a dealership setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Competency in performing repairs in areas such as:
    • Lube and Maintenance Services
    • Engine Repair
    • Suspension/Steering Repair
    • Brake Repair
