Role Overview:
The Automotive Repair Specialist is accountable for executing automotive repairs and services in alignment with dealership and manufacturer standards. This role requires utilizing technical skills to swiftly and accurately diagnose and resolve various automotive issues. The Specialist collaborates with all service personnel and management to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform tasks as detailed on repair orders with efficiency and precision, adhering to Lithia and manufacturer standards.
  • Diagnose the root cause of malfunctions.
  • Complete all work in compliance with applicable safety regulations.
  • Conduct road tests on vehicles to verify the quality of repair work.
  • Accurately log time spent on repairs using company timekeeping procedures.
  • Document work completed on repair orders and record test procedures/results.
  • Maintain an inventory of standard mechanic tools and ensure special tools are returned to their designated locations.
  • Utilize shop supplies and materials in a cost-effective manner.
  • Keep a tidy and organized workspace, performing daily stall cleaning.
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are returned in the same condition as when they were received.
  • Complete all necessary training and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications through required training.
  • Engage in technical training as assigned by management.
  • Review technical bulletins and other publications as directed by management.
  • Communicate effectively with other dealership personnel to meet customer needs.
  • Report any conditions that may compromise the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.
  • Adhere to personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards as per departmental policies.
  • Arrive at work, take breaks, and leave work at designated times as instructed by management.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Competency:
Successfully completed manufacturer training and capable of performing repairs in the following areas without supervision:
  • Lube and Maintenance Services.
  • Engine Repair.
  • Suspension/Steering Repair.
  • Brake Repair.
  • Electrical/Electrical Systems Repair.
  • Heating and A/C Repair.
  • Engine Drivability Diagnosis and Repair (Optional).
Certification/Training:
Manufacturer certified in all areas listed above. Minimum of 3 ASE certifications (preferably an ASE Master Technician).
Customer Pay Proficiency Level:
Greater than 105% Customer Pay Repairs. Automotive Technical Knowledge – Three to five years of experience.
