Position Overview: The Senior Security Systems Technician is responsible for executing new installations, commissioning, and service operations on large-scale security systems, including Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Alarms, and IP Intercom systems from various manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and inspect the installation of equipment to ensure compliance with customer expectations and manufacturer specifications.
  • Coordinate field activities and maintain effective communication, including system programming, commissioning, and testing as required by authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot equipment needing service, addressing potential wiring issues in the field.
  • Manage assigned service requests, estimating field labor hours accurately.
  • Occasionally work overtime as necessary to meet project demands.

Physical Requirements: Must be capable of lifting and carrying equipment and tools weighing over forty (40) pounds. The role may involve climbing ladders and scaffolding up to forty (40) feet and working in confined spaces such as ducts and crawl spaces.

Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the installation and servicing of fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion, and intercom systems.
  • Proven experience with Access Control and CCTV systems is essential.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical education in electronics or computer-based systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in using personal computers (Windows 7 and later) and Microsoft Office software.
  • Familiarity with IT network systems is required.
  • Ability to utilize hand and power tools, as well as testing equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Strong capability to read and interpret complex architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents, including project plans and specifications.
