General Overview

The Retail Sales Associate I plays a vital role in executing teller and personal banking operations. This position is tasked with promoting a wide range of products and services offered by Midwest Heritage while delivering exceptional service to both existing and potential customers.

  • Our retail locations operate six days a week with extended hours during weekdays. Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and evenings, is essential.
  • The Chariton location is also open six days a week, requiring availability on Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-aisle walks and make public address announcements as necessary (Retail Locations).
  • Enhance existing customer relationships and attract new clientele by introducing them to our diverse range of products and services.
  • Consistently meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Process various teller transactions and maintain a balanced cash drawer daily.
  • Stay informed about Midwest Heritage products and services through ongoing training and internal communications.
  • Assist the Operations Supervisor with clerical tasks, including filing, ordering supplies, maintaining office records, and preparing reports.
  • Achieve operational goals consistently.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with the products and services provided.
  • Engage proactively and professionally with customers regarding their financial needs.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Characteristics:
  • Professional presentation and outstanding communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Availability for workdays, evenings until 6:00 PM, and weekends is required.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum age of 16 years.
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer service role.
  • Prior sales or cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Experience as a Bank Teller is advantageous.
  • Previous roles should reflect the ability to sell, communicate effectively, and deliver excellent customer service.
Physical Requirements:
  • This role is classified as sedentary/light, requiring the ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent communication with customers in person and via phone, necessitating accurate information exchange.
  • Regular operation of office equipment, including computers, calculators, and printers.
  • Close visual acuity is needed for tasks such as data analysis, transcription, and reading.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily indoors with occasional local travel.
  • Retail hours vary weekly, including days, evenings until close (6 PM), and some weekends.
Equipment Utilized:

Computer printouts, incoming mail, calculators, computer terminals, copy machines, fax machines, and various software applications.

Contacts:

This position interacts with Midwest Heritage employees, customers, vendors, and external agents engaged in business with Midwest Heritage.

This role entails the responsibility of safeguarding the privacy and confidentiality of customers, employees, and sensitive financial information at all times.
