Position Overview

The Youth Engagement Specialist is responsible for guiding members in their personal, social, and educational growth, empowering them to assert their voice and influence within the community as they transition towards independence. This role involves fostering a nurturing environment where youth can learn, develop, and flourish.

The position entails overseeing daily operations, programs, and special events in a structured setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a supportive mentor and positive role model, offering guidance during after-school hours and summer programs.
  • Ensure a secure and welcoming atmosphere for all participants.
  • Assist in executing club initiatives, activities, and games.
  • Encourage member participation and help with the orientation and recruitment of new participants.
  • Engage in regular staff meetings to discuss program developments.
  • Contribute to special projects and events as needed.
  • Obtain necessary CPR and first aid certifications.
  • May involve driving club vehicles as required.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Demonstrates a genuine concern for youth development.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude and possesses strong interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining constructive relationships.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in taking initiative.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Maintains professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Holds a valid State driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Successfully passes a background screening.
