POSITION SUMMARY


The Financial Operations Manager oversees essential accounting functions related to the fiscal management of LBCT. This includes the review, preparation, and completion of the monthly closing procedures, ensuring robust internal financial controls, and preparing for both internal and external financial audits. The role also ensures that financial and accounting data is comprehensive and precise across various accounting cycles, including accounts payable, fixed assets, and accounts receivable.

Additionally, the Financial Operations Manager will assist in supervising the Accounting Clerks within the organization.

Under the guidance of the General Manager of Accounting, this position is tasked with delivering accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis, which will inform the development of a fiscal strategy aligned with the company’s objectives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Assist in reviewing general accounting transactions across various cycles, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Revenue, Expenses, and the monthly closing process.

Support the General Manager of Accounting in preparing comprehensive and accurate monthly financial reports, including budgets, periodic forecasts, statutory reporting, tax filings, and other accounting-related ad-hoc reports.

Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting standards.
Responsible for the monthly reconciliation and review of balance sheet accounts, as well as preparing and reviewing inter-office standard accounting forms.

Conduct research and provide recommendations on new accounting policies or matters, such as lease accounting and revenue recognition, in line with new GAAP guidance.

Evaluate, recommend, and implement enhancements to accounting processes as necessary.

Assist in maintaining accounting records, including the general ledger and all subsidiary ledgers, by aiding clerks in preparing general journal entries, including month-end accruals and expense provisions.

Perform account analysis, balance sheet, and account reconciliation, including updating and calculating accounting schedules.

Coordinate with relevant personnel to ensure timely month-end and annual closing of accounting records, along with other accounting matters.

Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders regarding payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable systems to guarantee that all accounting data is accurate and complete.

Undertake additional assignments as requested.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

In-depth knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong managerial, supervisory, and decision-making abilities to guide and direct Accounting Clerks towards achieving company objectives.
Ability to delegate tasks effectively, follow up, and resolve issues in a fair and firm manner.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capacity to engage with individuals across various levels and roles within the organization.
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in confrontational situations.
Strong verbal communication skills, with effective public speaking and presentation capabilities. Able to present and defend viewpoints clearly.

Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, along with strong teamwork abilities, fostering constructive dialogue and collaboration with staff and other groups.

Ability to synthesize information from diverse sources.
Capability to translate theoretical concepts into practical applications.
Ability to comprehend complex business operations and analyze performance outcomes.

Proven experience in exercising discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential information.

Ability to manage and meet various deadlines, demonstrating openness to innovative ideas that facilitate timely completion of tasks.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, sometimes on a daily basis.
Meticulous attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio).
Experienced in financial and accounting information systems; familiarity with SAP is preferred.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
A minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience in public accounting firms is required. Experience in private accounting is advantageous but not mandatory.
CPA certification is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to work any day, including weekends and holidays.
The ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
The ability to use a computer and keyboard.
The ability to sit and work at a desk and computer for prolonged periods.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The work is conducted indoors at LBCT sites, including temporary offices. The position may require travel for work assignments.
