The primary function of this position is to manage and oversee the inventory accounting operations of the company. This includes generating comprehensive reports, maintaining a robust system of accounting records, and implementing a thorough set of controls aimed at minimizing risks, improving the accuracy of the company's financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the inventory accounting processes, enhancing procedures and automation for optimal efficiency.
  • Oversee the month-end closing activities related to inventory, addressing discrepancies through research and necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate closely with distribution centers to ensure accurate and timely execution of processes.
  • Assess the cost of goods sold for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Take charge of the overall performance of the accounting department functions.
  • Manage online banking operations, including wire and ACH transactions.
  • Prepare regular financial reports and statements for management review.
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial analysis, monitoring costs and expenditures.
  • Support cash-flow analysis and forecasting efforts.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors and external accounting professionals.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination with company personnel and management.

Qualifications We Value

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with financial statement audits conducted by public accounting firms is preferred.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications.
  • Strong skills in Excel for analytical and computational tasks.
  • Excellent analytical and communication abilities.
  • Capability to assist and guide team members.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of accounting experience, including supervisory roles, or three years in public accounting is preferred.
